Moutain Pass
There is really only one path for the week-long trek to Everest from the Nepalese side. Miles and Jon would often contemplate the emotions and feelings of all the great adventurers who had trodden the same path through the years.
At the Tea Hut
Miles, Jon and their fellow climbers and sherpas spent most nights staying in Tea Huts on the week-long trek to base camp.
The Tea Hut experience is a great aspect of any climbing or trekking trip to Nepal.
Everest
Occasional glimpses of Everest always fire the imagination. Even though he is blind, Miles finds the sensation of being surrounded by these mighty mountains magnificent and awesome.
Miles on Dictaphone
Miles uses a small tape recorder like others would use a camera, capturing his thoughts, meetings and sounds as he travels.
The recording of yak bells in Nepal is magical.
Miles and Jon
Trekking in Nepal is a physical challenge for anybody with the difficult ground and high altitude to cope with.
For Miles and Jon the effort is always greater and a single stumble can quickly end any adventure.
Brain Scan
Following the suspected minor stroke at just below 20.000 in the Khumbu Himalayas, Miles found himself suddenly back in Kathmandu with his Everest dreams dashed.
The result of the brain scan? Nothing found.
