Stony Path
The ascent of Kilimanjaro is described as walking from the Equator to the Pole because of the huge changes in climate from the bottom to the top.
Boulder strewn ground like this is often the most difficult for Miles to overcome.
Setting out for the summit
Five days were spent in the sunshine above a continuous sea of cloud stretching over Tanzania. "It is always a sunny day above the clouds".
The team at the summit
Four blind climbers from the UK and South Africa enjoyed reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro, the highest point of Africa at 19,500 feet.
Miles meets his brother
Miles and his blind brother, Geoff, chose different routes for the last few days of the climb, but were reunited again at the summit shortly after dawn.
